You won't get much of an answer when you ask us to critique a whole page of photos, people will just say: ';Great photos';.

It is much better to ask about ONE photo at a time, and even better if YOU make the effort to say something about the photo to make it more meaningful to us. (So many ';askers'; don't ever bother to come back and look at the answers, show us that you actually CARE).

Tell us about the background, the story, and about your intentions. It shows that you are willing to do your part, and helps us to know what to critique.

ETA: Your nasty email to me was completely uncalled for. I did not say YOU don't come back to check the answers, I said ';many askers'; don't.

If the hat fits, feel free to wear it.

If not, perhaps you could keep in mind that I took the time to give you some helpful hints on how to improve your chance for feedback, and for that, I did NOT deserve the way you attacked me in that email.Photography critiques advice about my photos?
I like them! I especially like the one called Tiny Winnie Fly and the one called Lost in Time.

I find that a lot of my pictures look more professional if i put a small border around the edge, just like a black or white one.

I find it makes them look better, but it's all down to taste i guess.

If you look at my gallery:

You can see what I mean :)

P.S, I added you to my watch list so I can keep track of your photos :)

Any good books or other instructional aids or even advice about skiing?

My boyfriend loves to ski, and I'm terrified even on the green trails (even though I'm not terrible for a beginner) Does anyone have any recommendations for books, videos, or even just advice about how to not only be a BETTER skier, but a less terrified one? (I always take a lesson at the slopes, but that only seems to help a little)Any good books or other instructional aids or even advice about skiing?
What are you afraid of? Fear is a very good thing, it lets you be wary of your surroundings and keeps you from getting in trouble. If it is fear of falling, go swimming and take some diving lessons, take tumbling lessons and acrobatics all of this so you learn to fall and land safely. If it is fear of speed, learn how to control it with confidence. Have a ski that will be secure under your foot, and a boot that is tight so it supports you. Keep taking the lessons, ask for a certified instructor who can work with your fears and build your confidence. I've skied for 50 + years and taught and I get scared at times, it is normal. Anyone who is not scared at times is dangerous. The difference is what scares me is a drop in to a chute that is near vertical, for you it is a green run. Practice on a slope where you are comfortable, go higher on the hill when you are ready not before. A good instructor will encourage you and push you gently to more challenging terrain within your skill level. Push your skills then drop back in to your comfort zone. Have fun, I hope this helps. Any good books or other instructional aids or even advice about skiing?
You just need to take your time skiing on a trial until you are confident to ride down the slope without being terrified.- If that means staying on the bunny hill all day, then do that. Your supposed to have fun while skiing, and enjoy flying down the mountain. If you ride down the mountain in fear you'll never get better, or really enjoy it. Besides if your afraid and just focus on being scared, you're more likely to fall -where as if you were thinking about what actions you should be taking to soar down the mountain, you'd be doing just that. The better you get the less you'll be afraid. It just about be confident, and having fun.
You did not explain what you are exactly afraid of. I have a fear of heights, but still will climb high trees and enjoy the out doors, even look of the edge of a cliff. If you are scared of injuring yourself, wear a helmet and go skiing. Ski at your pace and over time you should get more comfortable with it.

I have an knee that will go out of socket to the right about two inches from a motorcycle injury with a car. I wear a brace and go skiing all the time. There is a fear of hurting my back and/or knee again, but I enjoy the outdoor. Wish you well with it.
it just takes practice. you have to like it, or else you won't get any better, or any more comfortable on the slopes. start on easy runs, then try doing them faster, and trying to keep your ski's more parallel ect. practice technique on the easier runs and you will be more comfortable on the harder ones.
I ski double blacks, and I am somewhat fearful also. But im probably fearful in a different way. Im afraid of getting out of control. What are you afraid of. If your just plain afraid, I suggest you keep going, practicing, and taking lessons to break the fear.

  • What do you think of a person that gets advice about all her problems on Yahoo answers?

I know a woman who gets advice on yahoo answers about all her problems, and actually puts alot of stock in the answers she gets. She actually bases the outcome of the problem on the answers she gets!!! Whats your opinion about that? What do you think of a person that gets advice about all her problems on Yahoo answers?
I would think you have too much time on your hands! What do you think of a person that gets advice about all her problems on Yahoo answers?
Well, as long as she doesn't take it too seriously, it seems OK to get some input from others, but we must remember, we are all strangers to each other.
I think that Yahoo Answers has some very wise people in it.

I also think Yahoo Answers has some really really dumb people in it.

My take on this one is that Yahoo Answers can be a really valuable resource, but it is no substitute for common sense or the advice of a trusted friend or family member.
I think answers in Yahoo sometimes make sense, but one has to look at the context, and weigh it accordingly. Review the response and see how much thought goes into it, and whether it is logical. Personally, if it was general technical questions, then that's not that big a deal to get answers from Yahoo! But for personal questions, or somewhat arbitrary questions, you can't always just fully 100% trust answers from basically complete strangers.
I think she has no time to think herself, but it is essential to think from your own mind first, then asking. But anyways its her life, what makes you disturb about it, do you have so much of time to poke your nose on her q/a. Bad manner, you should concentrate on your activity.
I think that the woman that you know is very open with others and isn't afraid to show that everyone has troubles every once in a while. This statment can be good or bad.
she's either a simpleton or she's on crack.

    God bless.
That they have nothing better to do then ask complete strangers that don't know them to make all their life decisions
kinda sad. sure some answers can help but if it looks something like this:

Q: should i divorce my husband for no reason?

    A: hell yeah!

    Q: alright then, thanks

then maybe she should think twice about acting on any advice given by strangers ;)
    sick!
    That is very good.
I think many people come here looking for validation on an opinion they have already formed.

This IS a good place for advice because you get a wide range of opinions. Unfortunately, response quality is often based on the time when the question is posted.

This place is a good location for seeing if a belief someone already has is valid or not. (i.e. if other people agree./disagree)
what do you mean i think that im lost here but if thats something gross or bad or totally weird then i give that a thumbs down.
My opinion is that she doesn't have enough adequate friends to talk to.
I hope she only follows the best answers.
I used to know someone who got ALL of their answers from a Magic 8-Ball
Maybe she has low self esteem %26amp; has no confidance in herself so she puts her life choices into the hands of others. She may not have close family %26amp;/or friends that she can confided in or seek advice from. Yahoo answers is a fast %26amp; sometimes effective way to get help/answers to your questions. Therefore she comes here for help.
Why does it matter? Is someone telling her to dump you?
well i like doing this for fun...but life changing decisions no way....she needs to seek advice from people she trusts....not us strangers on the internet!!
I dont know but jesus all your questions have to do with your friends and I am guessing you do not have any do you?Are you all alone and make up imaginary friends to make yourself feel better?because that is what I do just wish they would answer me back.
    I know I wouldn't do that!
Kinda smart in a way...at least she's TRYING to help herself, unlike some wallowers I shall not name here. As long as she ignores the myriad of dumb and rude answers and balances her own common sense with the answers, I suppose there are worse ways to solve one's problems. Hay, you gotta tell me more about your cheezy avatar. Good cheezy...but..why?
well it's a wide variety of opinions, but I think she should make some 3 dimensional friends.
She saved a lot of money on counseling bills.
I think they need advice - that is why they asked

Will you give me some advice about exercise?

Ok so basically I cant go running or jogging for very long because I have knee problems and running causes my knees to give way, I have decided to powerwalk instead do you think 1hour of powerwalking a day is sufficent? Or should I be doing more? Will you give me some advice about exercise?
My girlfriend suffers from knee problems and on my exercise and diet plan she lost 23 lbs (I lost 60lbs 3 years ago, still kept it off). If you have bad knees you want to do 30 minutes a day on an elliptical machine (considered to be low-impact running). Do not run or jog because that is high-impact excercise and is bad for your knees. Combine that with limiting your carbohydrate intake to 30-40 grams per day (one carb meal a day) and you will achieve your goal. Will you give me some advice about exercise?
    no do more
That should be fine... it is actually perfect.

I'm anaemic and I feel my condition is worsening, I was wondering if I could get any advice about what to do?

These days I've been more aware of my heartbeat than usual, my heart is beating either very quickly or irregularly, I'm feeling extremely tired and weak and I can't bring myself to do very much during the day. I'm having frequent chest pains or discomfort and I feel very light and occasionally come close to dizziness. After the results of my latest blood test about two months ago I was told that I have severe iron deficiency. Could there be any other reason for these symptoms?I'm anaemic and I feel my condition is worsening, I was wondering if I could get any advice about what to do?
Well, if you are anaemic, then you should eat things high in iron, e.g. red meat, spinach etc... I hate red meat, so I ate a lot of things with spinach, like pasta, salads, Punjabi naan bread (from the Indian restaurant I work at.. mmmmmmm) and stuff like that.

Hope this helps. :)I'm anaemic and I feel my condition is worsening, I was wondering if I could get any advice about what to do?
You really need to see your doctor. I am also anaemic and have just started a course of iron injections. Warning - you end up looking like you have a big bruise on your bottom, but its not really a bruise - its staining from the iron. (it will go away) My doctor told me it is worthless taking iron tablets because they would take months to do any good. Good luck partner!
One thing that you may want to do, if you haven't already, is see a hematologist.

The weakness and fatigue are very common symptoms of anaemia. What should be done is a bone marrow biopsy. The red blood cells, like all other blood cells, are produced in the bone marrow. Once the biopsy has been taken, it will be studied for presence of some cells and behaviors of others. You may need to be given transfusions of red blood cells or given an ESA (erythropoeitic stimulating agent) which builds and boosts red blood cells. (erythrocytes)

Anaemia may be contributing to the irregular heartbeat and chest pain, and it may be anxiety as well. An EKG may need to be ordered to rule out cardiac disorders. Feeling more aware of your heartbeat may be a form of anxiety, and you may want to speak with your doctor about this as well. Two months is a long time to go without treatment of your anaemia. I recommend that you see your primary care provider as soon as possible and request to be referred to a hematologist.

    Good luck!

Can you give me some advice about being taxed?

I'm an 18 year old student and have just started working. I picked up my pay packet yesterday and found that I had been taxed 拢29 a week. I spoke to a fellow colleague who told me I shouldn't be getting taxed this much as I only work 18.5hrs a week and also because I am a student. Is this true and if so how can I get it sorted? Can you give me some advice about being taxed?
ring your tax office and ask what tax rate you should be on. They can adjust it if necessary. Can you give me some advice about being taxed?
Its probably an emergency tax payment, it should say what bracket on your wage slip. This should sort itself out and you will get a tax rebate. If worried then ring your local tax office.
anything over 16hrs a week is taxable

Need advice about adults taking pics of my kids outside school?

2 days ago my 2 sons aged 13 and 14 were walking home from school with 3 other boys, my eldest son found a pair of scissors on ground and was messing with them, when one of the boys asked him for them and put them up to one of the other boys face he did not hurt him, anyway my boys ran when they saw this. today when they came out of school and 2 adults were taking pictures of them it could not be to identify them because all boys were from same school. I phoned police and they told me to ask them why they were taking pics. I did not think this was the right advice. I am worried now and scared to send kids to school. I might add that my 13 yr old is autistic.Need advice about adults taking pics of my kids outside school?
As one of the poster said you should contact your local law about it. Also take along on of those throw away cameras and take a picture of them. They just might be someone of interest and God for bid something did happen you would have a picture to begin with. If the person(s) ask you why you took there picture answer with a like question why are you taken pictures of my son and his friends. Just don't let out to much until you need to.Need advice about adults taking pics of my kids outside school?
You're a parent %26amp; you're asking this question? What's wrong with you? Why do you allow them to walk alone? And your 13 year old is autistic? Sexual predators love parents like you. You make kidnapping a child so easy for them. Your children are innocent now. But that can change in the few seconds it takes for a van door to slide open. I usually try not to be abusive. But, you remind me of a woman I knew. She was cold hearted, neglectful, %26amp; she would've aborted me if she could have. She was my mother. Most parents need to lighten up. You need to TIGHTEN up, now before you lose those 2 miracles. Good Luck %26amp; Blessings, %26amp; Prayers for all of you!
Hello there.. Dont let your children walk home from school.. When I was in elementry all the way to when I was in my final years of high school, My mother picked me up.. There are sickos running around everywhere.. On top of that, Tell your principle!! Tell him the situation, and that you are worried about them.. Of course they'll take extra care of them!
It's not illegal to take pictures of others in a public place. Asking them about it is pretty much the only thing you can do. Was this a one time thing or have they been seen hanging around the school before?
Depending on the state, there may be laws permitting this sort of activity. In California, this activity may be covered under section 647.6(a)(1) PC:

647.6. (a) (1) Every person who annoys or molests any child under 18 years of age shall be punished by a fine not exceeding five thousand dollars ($5,000), by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year, or by both the fine and imprisonment.

Contact your local law enforcement agency and advise them of whats going on. Request they send someone to contact thsi individual. Often times the subject will cease their activity once they know law enforcement is watching them and aware of what they're doing.

    Hops this helps.

My friend who is working as sales professional is planning to shift to australia.can anybody advice about it?

Details regarding any consultant who help in migrating to australia or company which grants sponsership working in australia. He is a sales professional form India with more than 6 years of experience in Telecom Sales. My friend who is working as sales professional is planning to shift to australia.can anybody advice about it?
Work visas for Australia are very difficult to get.

His first step should be to visit the Australian immigration website and see if he qualifies for skilled immigration. His job must be on the Skilled Occupations List (SOL); he must be suitably qualified (a degree is needed plus experience); he must pass a points test unless he can get regional sponsorship (and that will be difficult in his line of work); he must meet English language requirements; he must meet health and character requirements. If he falls short on any of the above, no consultant or migration agent will be able to help him. The requirements are absolute and there is no way around any of them.

Here are some links that should help:

http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/index.htm is the main immigration website. See the following pages for all specific information.

  • My 22 month old just had rotavirus. Any advice about foods to start him on?

Any advice from parents with rotavirus experience would be most helpful. He hasn't had diahrea for 1 day now and he wants to eat a little bit, but I think that his tummy is still a little crampy, or he is having a hard time digesting. My 22 month old just had rotavirus. Any advice about foods to start him on?
keep it simple. use the BRAT formula. bananas, rice, applesauce, toast.

yogurt is also beneficial to restore some of the bacteria in his intestinal tract.

lots of drinks of water and love from mum........and presto! you'll have a happy camper in no time.

rotavirus is the pits! been there will all three of my little guys, it can take a week or two to get them ';regular'; so to speak.......

you may want to ask your pediatrician. they usually are really good about letting you know what you can and cant do after a serious illness.

Advice about awesome colors to paint my room?

I have 4 walls in my room. I want to do 2 colors and alternate walls with each color. I really want to do something with brown because I really like coffee and I have some things to hang on the brown walls that are in that color pallete. I was also thinking about doing the other 2 walls a light shade of bright blue. What do you think? What other suggestions do you have? Should I go with a chocolate shade of brownAdvice about awesome colors to paint my room?
My opinion is to paint only 1 wall the odd color.. (the wall your head board in on) and to paint 3 walls a brown. A dk caramel would be very pretty. Browns will compliment most colors well.... so the blues would be great!

Have fun painting and decorating!!Advice about awesome colors to paint my room?
Chocolate brown and a light blue are definetly trendy colors in interior design right now. Alternating colors might make it hard for your eye to focus and will be too much for a room with only 4 walls. I would consider painting the all of the walls chocolate brown, and then do vertical or horizontal stripes with the light blue, whatever width you'd like. It'll definetly bring the two colors together without being too much. Consider looking at Domino or Elle Decor magazines for pictures to mimic.
You should go shopping for something to use as inspiration, that has all the colors you want, like a pillow, rug, or curtains, and use that to paint your wall and as a guide for everything else in your room. My sister has watermelon-themed walls and it came out great! Good luck to you!
    Hmm....

Well, I think you should have two walls brown and then the other two sponge paint blue. It would really look cool...My sister did it except with like darker pink and lighter pink. Or you can do 2 brown walls and 2 sponge painted pink walls. Those look really cute together. If you visit a store like Joann's Fabrics or Michael's craft store...you can purchase different colors of fabrics by the yard and drape it along the top of your windows. That would look very cute!!! Good Luck.

    %26lt;3 Kelsey
How about cream or like an antique white? Brilliant and dark colors have a tendicy to make the room look smaller. Also, brown/coffee is considered a warm color and light blue would be considered a cool color. So I'm not sure if the contrast would work - your colors may appear muddy beside each other. Of course, it's your room and totally up to you, but if it were me I'd at least stay in the warm or cool colors, not both. Cream or antique white would still be in the warm colors.

    Good luck!
kool! that is a really interesting idea! if you use a lighter brown, you want a brighter blue, and a chocolate shade would be fine but you would want a bold blue to go with it! IT SHOULD LOOK GREAT! ((:
I think light brite blue and brown is a great scheme. However they are going to fight each other for focus in the room if you alternate them. think about painting the ceiling brown. and/or 1 wall brown. good luck!

Advice about shopping to cook in Copenhagen?

I need some advice about diet pills and exercise?

if i do FitTV's carribean workout (cardio boxing) 20 minutes a week and walk or hike 1 to 2 miles 3 times a week, will i lose weight? i dont need to lose a lot of weight, and i was just wondering how long roughly will it come off? i eat healthy and i take Stacker 3 diet pills.I need some advice about diet pills and exercise?
I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.

Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.

First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...

This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.

However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn't meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It's an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace dot com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it's the best pill I've tried and I've tried cupboards full. Now this doesn't mean you have to follow my foot steps but I've successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.

Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.I need some advice about diet pills and exercise?
    PLEASE LISTEN:

Please be careful in what and how many diet pills you take. Make sure you give your body time to re-adjust to normal before trying another weight loss pill. My Grandmother tried diet pill and new diets and switched again to try another. I believe this is partly what killed her. Her body didn't recover from each new diet and all the drugs in her body mixed together and eventually caused a lot of damage to her insides. Please let your system clear before starting another . ( I don't mean to scare you sorry )

    good luck!!
    DON'T

take no diet pills because you suffer from side affects later and but exercise more than 20 minutes a day on a average person you should exercise at least exercise 2 hours a week but if you ant to lose it quickly, do a bit more exercise and eat healthy don't eat a lot of junk food
I used something better than Stacker 3 pills. I did the same acai berry pills as Rachel Ray and Oprah on TV. I lost 47 pounds very quickly. I think there is still a free trial going on. Check out my blog

    www.Tinas-Diet-Story.com
You would possibly lose weight depending on your diet.

p.s. get good sleep before the test and good breakfastGot any good advice about the air force ASVAB?
All subjects are a part of your general score so you need to take all of them seriously. I would focus on the parts you are least familiar with or are having the hardest time with. you can do an internet search and you will be able to find ASVAB practice tests that way. I took the one on military.com

Does anyone have advice about a starting problem with a 2003 Ford Taurus SES?

When I turn the ignition key there is a ';whining noise';. I then rock the gear shift while it is in Park, and then it will start. If anyone has experienced this, or has suggestions, please let me know. Thanks a lot.Does anyone have advice about a starting problem with a 2003 Ford Taurus SES?
You have a bad starter. The solenoid is not engaging the starter.Does anyone have advice about a starting problem with a 2003 Ford Taurus SES?
Actually it sounds like maybe you have a faulty bendex. This would still require repair or replacement of the starter to correct. My guess is the rocking of the gear shift is not related. Eventually it could get worse and just won't start at all some time. good luck
FORD DEALER RECALLED THIS PROBLEM. ITS IN THE IGNITION SYSTEM. ASK THE DEALER THEY KNOW ABOUT IT.

Is there some big perfect book out there on advice about girls, dating, and relationships?

kind of like that one in harry potter that Ron is given in the last book. I know experience is number one but some reading up and guidelines could be a good supliment. Is there some big perfect book out there on advice about girls, dating, and relationships?
haha, probably not. but you could try searching on google whatever question you have about a girl.

were not that difficult are we? ;)

or you could ask a female friend,Is there some big perfect book out there on advice about girls, dating, and relationships?

My boyfriend doesn't like me asking others for advice about our relationship?

My boyfriend hates me asking my friends for advice about our relationship. I want to be free to ask my friends about anything but he said don't. He said we can solve our problems on our own. I don't know..its very difficult for me. What do u think? Is he right? My boyfriend doesn't like me asking others for advice about our relationship?
I think he's wrong, you have the freedom use it. If he doesn't like you doing that than it's his problem. If you have questions, ask. Don't be afraid. Don't let him control you like some type of animal. Boyfriends aren't supposed to do that. Stand up for yourself and do what you think is right. My boyfriend doesn't like me asking others for advice about our relationship?
its wrong to depent on your freands on this sort of thing.

im not saying its not right ether.

what i think of this is that you need to be direct with him if its a problem with the rilationship, work it out just the two of you no outsiders (third wheels).

its ok to talk to freand about the problem but dont get them involved,

they got nothing to do with the problem or the solution!!!!!!!

  • Any advice about cleaning the hamster cage after having babies?

I've just bought two female hamsters approx. 2 1/2 weeks ago. Four days after bringing them home, the first one had 7 babies. Just last week the other one had a litter of 11. The mothers are in separate cages. The oldest litter is two weeks old today. I've left the cage cleaning because I heard you should for the safety of the babies. Now I need to clean it. I'm afraid of disturbing the nest. Any suggestions?Any advice about cleaning the hamster cage after having babies?
I had to look this up as I breed mice, not hamsters. Unfortunately their gestation and weaning periods are different.

Anyways, between 12-14 days the pup's eyes should now be open and this is the time that the cage should be cleaned (so you timed it pretty well, good job!). I'm assuming that the site says this because it is now safe to clean it without worrying too much about the babies.

Personally I would get a cardboard box or critterkeeper or whatever to put the mum and her pups in all together while you clean the cage. The faster you can do this the better I would say, just so they aren't seperated too long. I would put some of their old bedding in the box too. I would also leave just a tiny bit of their old bedding in their cage, scattered on top of the new stuff just to avoid a completely new environment.

It should go over fairly well, I don't think you have much to worry about. As for the other litter, just wait until they're about 14 days before cleaning their cage too.

The pups should be seperated into same-sex groups between 21-28 days to avoid them trying to breed at too young an age. Remember that hamsters are solitary, too, so they should be housed individually as soon as you can after weaning (although the females can probably stay with their mum an extra couple days).

You said your mums are in different cages, I don't know if that's only because of their litters or if you were keeping them like that originally. Either way, make sure they continue to be kept apart, they should only be housed one per cage.

Good luck and congrats on the pups! :DAny advice about cleaning the hamster cage after having babies?
I don't claim to know everything- not nearly!- but if I don't know for sure I'll look it up or ask someone else. Most people at pet stores seem to prefer to make something up, rather than risk seeming stupid. I look at it as a learning process :D

at about 2 wks when their eyes are open, u can clean just the area thats wet rather than the whole cage. just scoop %26amp; replace. do the whole cage after they are about a mth. at about 4-6 wks they will be need to separated by sex as suggested earlier or u will have even more babies! at about 3mths they will all need separate cages or they will fight %26amp; kill. NO BLEACH, watered down vinegar %26amp; baking soda, %26amp; rinse WELL. once u touch them, touch them all so they smell the same.

Asked to sign a disclosure on a house we are having built. Need advice about resale!?

There was a firecracker lit off in our basement of the house we are having built. Luckily it didn't burn down. But the had to replace the pit in the basement and the whole house smells like smoke (no drywall up yet, only wood). So they want us to sign a disclosure about the incident. I am concerned about resale and how if we sign this it will affect us.Asked to sign a disclosure on a house we are having built. Need advice about resale!?
As long as you fixed the damage you should be ok. Ask your realtor to explain it to you, or look it up on a site that covers the laws in your state. Disclosure is where you are telling the buyer of problems with your house. Its the law in most states. Asking your realtor is your best bet. If you don't have a realtor maybe someone you know is knowledgable about your state's laws, but a realtor is your best and safest bet. Also I'm not sure who is asking you to sign this disclosure. Be careful with this.Asked to sign a disclosure on a house we are having built. Need advice about resale!?
Make sure that you have your attorney look at the disclosure before you sign. It may just be a statement about the firecracker going off in the basement.

Just be aware of what you are signing.
In NY this disclosure is required by law. I wouldn't worry about it. If you building over a closed garbage dump that might be a problem

Any advice about the debit cards that you can load with money before travelling in asia and australia?

Going away for a year and wonder what is easiest and safest way to have local currency, will be able to top up via phone or net from my main account in UKAny advice about the debit cards that you can load with money before travelling in asia and australia?
Hi...for Australia I would have an account accessible via ATM and only keep money you need in there. Careful where you use the net to transfer money - phone would be safer. Asia different story - minimal cash and everthing on credit card.Any advice about the debit cards that you can load with money before travelling in asia and australia?
I would take a prepaid credit card with you from the UK. Visa or MasterCard will work and can be topped up from the UK via a standing order. www.mycashplus.co.uk for a prepaid Mastercard.

It can be topped up via a standing order but if you run out of money, leave the top up instructions at home with parent/friend etc and they can reload it at any Post Office or Money shop.

Top up at PO takes 24 hours to credit account. Money shop is instant.
My recommendation would be to open a Nationwide account. Their debit card works OK (my daughter went around the world on one) and their charges are, or are near to, the cheapest. You can use internet banking to keep an eye on things and to transfer money to/from other accounts..

Be careful with some card providers who charge a fixed fee for each overseas transaction (the Nationwide don't). A friend's daughter, unaware of this, only took out small amounts of cash quite frequently and ran out of money due to the fees. If you have a fixed fee card, take out larger amounts infrequently.
Have a look at moneysupermarket.com, go to the credit card section and press for prepaid credit cards and there is a large selection that comes up, they all have information on and how to top up if your abroad and some of them have no monthly fee to use them and others only charge you 拢1.50 to withdraw money out abroad, some of them charge a heck of a lot more, hope this helps and have a fantastic time in Australia, its an amazing country.
Teachers Credit Union has a debit card that is linked to Visa. Try there
carrying money or traveler checks can be dangerous if not a thing of the past. The countries you mentioned do take US ATM cards, however you can always pick up a temp visa card, which you put a certain amount of money on it ahead of time. This is good when you may be buying something online and afraid of potential fraud. At least with the temporary visa card, you know exactly how much money to spend and don't over do it with a regular one.

Any advice about how to handle my 10 year old son's bought with depression?

It's slowly beginning to spiral downward.Any advice about how to handle my 10 year old son's bought with depression?
He is SO lucky that you recognize it for what it is. My first depressive episode was at 6; I actually remember it. I'm 42 now.

If your son is typical, he's feeling terribly LONELY no matter how the depression is manifesting, whether it's through anger or sadness. Please repeat until you are blue in the face how much he is loved and that he won't feel this way forever, AND that YOU ARE ON HIS SIDE!

Is this the first time? You seem to recognize it well. Is the pediatrician any help? If yes--get there tomorrow. If not--look up a child PSYCHiatrist (not counselor, not spychologist) that's on your ins plan and get him there ASAP.

If your medical insurance does not have mental health benefits, then get to the Internet or a paper phone book/yellow pages and look up Mental Health or even Suicide Help in your area.

Another option is to talk to your religious leader, or if that's embarrassing, to ANOTHER religious leader in your community. Or ask a trusted friend to do this for you.

You might feel helpless, but you are not. There's little things and big things that you can do. Let him know you know. Help him understand as much as he can, and then be a superhero and spring into action. Get creative if your medical benefits aren't any help.

Contact Big Brothers and Sisters for some guidance. The suicide hotline in your area, or closest large metro area, can be a great source of help and comfort, even if the situation isn't dire.

The spiral will get faster, and he's hurting. You already are looking for ways to be his hero; keep looking, but look closer to home. Your pediatrician is the first phone call, unless it's proven useless already.

You and he will get through this.

Try to remind yourself and your son of all the things that are right with your world.

May God shine his face toward you and grant you peace.

Dallas, TXAny advice about how to handle my 10 year old son's bought with depression?
He is lucky you recognize it for what it is.

Our son had a bout with depression in the summer. He has autism, we had just moved into a new home which he helped to design- I had thought he would transition more easily into it because he had a hand in it all. NOPE! New school, new home, new everything including a new sister- all in less than a year. We called his psychiatrist and he did therapy and put him on Zoloft. In 2 weeks time, we noticed he was getting better. Now, he makes sure he takes it each day because he says he never want to feel so awful again. I don't blame him.

Call your ped. or your insurance and get him set up with an appt. immediately.

Good luck- it is so scary as a parent to see this.
Make sure it isn't the focus of conversations. I have had manic depression since junior high as well as social anxiety disorder. It is always worse when attention is brought to it. By that I don't mean attention as in treatment but family members who ridicule you for something you cant control. Being understanding is one of the best ways to help. But don't let him just sit in a funk encourage him to do things but don't nag. For me it was really helpful when someone said lets do this instead of do you feel like doing this?

Any advise about planning a trip to Tokyo, Japan?

I am planning a trip to Tokyo and I was wondering if there is anything I needed to know before I book it. If you've visited what are some tourist attraction I would definitely want to look into.Any advice about planning a trip to Tokyo, Japan?
    Hi there,

As for Tokyo, to optimize your time there and see a lot I always take people for their first time:

    Any morning:

    1.) Go to Sosenji Temple (Asakusa) walk around ';Nakamise Dori'; and ';Kaminari Mon.';

2.) Take taxi to Ueno park walk around, then can walk towards Akihabara (the electronics dictrict)

3.) take JR Yamanote Line to Harajuku-get off and walk down ';Takeshita Dori'; and see all the teenie-boppers and fashion

4.) From Harajuku walk towards Meiji Jingu (shrine) nice walk

5.) From Meiji Jingu walk towards Omotesando

    6.) From Omotesando you can walk to Shibuya and make sure you walk up ';Center Street';

7.) On way home take subway from Shibuya Station and make sure you see ';Hachiko'; statue

    Other daytime activities:

1.) Kichijoji-nice little area, lots of nice shops/restaurants/park, my favorite part of Tokyo!

2.) Odaiba-Venus Fort mall, get to ride over Rainbow Bridge, see Fuji TV

    3.) Tokyo Tower-not really anything interesting...haha

4.) Nagatcho-to see the Japanese National Diet Building

5.) Ikebukuro-nice area just to walk around in

    Eating:

1.)Try cheap and good ';kaiten sushi';-sushi on a conveyor belt, good quality and good price

2.) Ramen shop-if it's crowded it should be good

3.) A good stanby chain restaurant is called ';Otoya,'; nearly everywhere and serve traditional Japanese food

These are just some basic things for a few first days in Tokyo, have fun!

If you are gonna go to to other cities (which you should), take the JR Shinkansen (Haruka/Nozomi) to Osaka.

    While in Osaka see:

    1.) Osaka Castle

2.) Walk around Dotonbori at night

    3.) Eat takoyaki and okonomiyaki

Take train to Kyoto (stay in Granvia Kyoto Hotel-right on top of train station)

    See:

    1.) Nijo Castle

    2.) Kiyomizudera Temple

    3.) Ryoanji Temple

    4.) Sanjusangendo Temple

    5.) Kinkakuji Temple

    6.) Ginkakuji Temple

7.) Walk around Pontoncho at night for dinner and drinks

*Take taxi around Kyoto is better than subway/bus

Then take a day trip to Nara (1 hour from Kyoto) and see Todaiji Temple

To add to seamonkey's answer, finding ATM's that accept ANY foreign bank cards (not everyone is American) can be difficult, but post office ATM's are usually trouble-free. However, check with your bank before you leave and make sure your PIN will be accepted in Japan. You may have to change it to four digits if it isn't already.

As for tourist attractions, it depends on what you're interested in. The Imperial Palace grounds are just up the street from Tokyo Station. You can't see much of the palace (except in December for the Emperor's birthday and in January for the annual speech to the public), but the grounds are nice.

If you want to see the stereotypical image of Tokyo, go to Shibuya station and watch the thousands and thousands of people crossing the street at Shibuya crossing.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXtOdSgf6鈥?/a>

Go to department stores. The service and variety is amazing, especially on the food floors.

A lot of people would go to Akihabara, Harajuku, etc. to see electronics and annoying, cutesy girls dressed in weird costumes.

Try Meiji-jingu in Shinjuku. It is a relatively new shrine, but it is very important to Japanese people.

I would try getting out of the city a bit to see real Japan.

    Have a great time.
Bring a good amount of Japanese paper money and travelers cheques. ATM's that accept american cards are hard to come by and the exchange rate is kinda evil. Some places take card but overall its cash only.

I'm going to say go see a japanese live play like Bunraku. It's a good experience.

Any advice about music and the effects it has on the brain?

    Hey everyone,

I have to teach a lesson about music and the effects it has on the brain this Thurs. for my Psych class. Any good information, advice, or topics I should specifically talk about? Links to any good websites?

Also do you know of any good interactive exercises I can do with the class to support my lesson or of any videos online I can show?

Thanks much for any help you can provide....

ScottAny advice about music and the effects it has on the brain?
    here ya go

In general, responses to music are able to be observed. It has been proven that music influences humans both in good and bad ways. These effects are instant and long lasting. Music is thought to link all of the emotional, spiritual, and physical elements of the universe. Music can also be used to change a person's mood, and has been found to cause like physical responses in many people simultaneously. Music also has the ability to strengthen or weaken emotions from a particular event such as a funeral.

People perceive and respond to music in different ways. The level of musicianship of the performer and the listener as well as the manner in which a piece is performed affects the ';experience'; of music. An experienced and accomplished musician might hear and feel a piece of music in a totally different way than a non-musician or beginner. This is why two accounts of the same piece of music can contradict themselves.

The fear of loneliness stops me from making life choices. Any advice about this?

the fear of loneliness stops me from making major changes to my life...

    any advice?

how do you cope with worries about loneliness?

i'd really appreciate serious answers please, and no one word answers! The fear of loneliness stops me from making life choices. Any advice about this?
I suppose that not making choices can actually lead to loneliness. Making a major life change can be difficult, however, if you think that the change can be healthy, beneficial, and have some positive impact overall, then it might be wise to turn toward that road; weigh the pros and cons of making that choice and not making that choice and see what you come up with. In regards to worrying about loneliness, worrying is going to make you that much lonely. I believe this because worry is a close relative of anxiety and avoidance, ';worry thoughts'; or ';catastrophic thinking and awfulizing'; can hinder any progress we could be making, it is how we have decided to look at things, are they usually bad/ominous or are they optimistic/exciting. Only you can turn your mind over to looking at things a little differently. Don't be worried about failure, we all fail or cannot meet certain goals from time to time, just keep trying, the benefits will be there, but it takes time and persistence. The fear of loneliness stops me from making life choices. Any advice about this?
    Hello, Im Dr. Hosegood,

    I have your answer.

Loneliness is all mental. You need to first search within yourself and find out why you have this dependency on other people. Although God intented for us to have a mate in life, there is a period, no matter how long or when it is, when we have to be alone, before we can learn to live with someone else and there problems, we first need to learn to live with ourselves and our problems. You need to take sometime to find yourself. Find out who you are and stop looking for someone else to fill the internal gap you have. Once you are stable in who you are, and you know who you are, then you will be able to live with loneliness, because you are happy with yourself. And stop looking so hard for love or even just a companian. Surround yourself with good friends and fun times, and when the time comes, love will find you.

    Hope this helps.

    Dr. Hosegood
There are a lot of people who use self-talk to handle what is going on inside their minds. When self-talk is not monitored cautiously it can lead to drastic effects not only on one鈥檚 personality but also affects its mentality and psychology. Self-talk is a type of conversation which we conduct with ourselves. In literature we call it soliloquy. Brain鈥檚 reticular activating system never forgets what we repeat again and again. Ironically this system can not recognize what is beneficial to the individual and what is not. Think you can, think you can't; either way, you'll be right- a saying goes like this. Therefore when ever we 鈥榯alk鈥?with ourselves, we should be cautious, very cautious in fact. If I recall there is a book 鈥榮elf-talk solutions鈥?which is every effective in this scenario.
Find good friends to help you.
This is a very common problem, a lot of people stay in unhealthy relationships, friendships and circumstances because of this fear and others. You have to make a commitment to better your self. Start picking up some new hobbies, take some classes and really begin to discover who you are and what you want out of your life. Start just doing somethings for yourself and by yourself and gradually work up to maybe a whole day or two when you just focus on you. Remember that you can not change other people but you really can change yourself, and believe me you have made the biggest step you need to, which is realizing that you need improvement. It also really is a good idea to talk to a counselor or therapist, it helps to have some one who is trained and can give you some guidance. You may end up making the changes in 1 year with someone elses help where it may have taken you 3 years on your own. Check out your local clinics and stuff, some places charge you sliding fees where you may only pay like 5 dollars a visit. Good luck, if you are really committed to change YOU WILL.
    Hi!

This is a problem that plagues all of us from time to time.

    1. First of all ,as an adult u have to recognise that loneliness is a common problem in life today...people have their own routines and little time to spare for family or friends.

    2. You need to identify areas of interest--- a hobby or pursuit that keeps u engaged

    3. social networking--- keeping in touch with family, friends and colleagues

    4. u are as lonely as u feel......so develop activities such as reading, listening to music etc.

    5. all of us have worries ---the point is how we cope with them

be positive, look at those who are less fortunate and count your blessings.

    Cheers n chin up:)
my friend i ll try to answer to your question as i am not the appropriate one that can figures out with this.Firstly your problem is very common and i can say that sometimes i deal with the same problem (believe me..i understand you!!!)Loneliness is a fear that have such a huge number of people..nobody want to be alone..without friends...relatives...wife...girlfriend.鈥?generally without some people with who you can express yourself ....i have observed that the most times these fears of loneliness are momentary so that they are some temporary emotions everybody feels in some occasions of his life...These fears are generally exist in our minds...but that's not a problem...because we have to make ourselves understand that they are stupid ones like the fears of dark!so you haven't make your choices based on your fears..because for example,if you have fears of dark and you want to take something very important from your room in which the light cant turn on you have to overcome your fears and everything so as to take what you want from the room...thus please make your choices without take too seriously these fears...also the only thing that you have to care about is to be responsible of what you do...come on...take some risks..and remember you may feel loneliness ..i think that you have to take down this word...do you have friends??people who really love you?then you are not alone...and if you think you haven't you are wrong because they are people that love you deeply that you don't know it!also you have a new friend...me!finally...make your choices freely..don't be afraid...the strong people aren't afraid!!!i hope i helped you!good luck in your major choices!c ya
You have to realize that life goes on, whether your standing by or on the bus. Some of the worst times in my life where when I moved into a new city or went to a new school or took a new job. Being lonely is the underlying basis of what most people fear. When someone says they are afraid of the dark, its not the dark they're afraid of but being alone in the dark. People aren't afraid to die. The one's who say they are most likely believe they are going to be alone or are leaving someone behind to be alone. So how do you deal with it. You just do. You find things that help you take your mind off of the loneliness. I like working with my hands, whether its cooking, woodworking or thumbing through a good book (I don't actually read, just thumb). In the end, I still worry about being alone all the time, but I also know that I have other things in my life that make me feel alive and like I exist. Knowing this makes it easier to move through day to day.
You need to get used to being alone. Friends come and go, and family can not always be there. When all is said and done, you are alone in this life. Everyone is.
It's not fear of loneliness; it's fear of rejection. (Fear of loneliness would drive you towards making relationships.) Staying clear of possibilties because of fear of rejection definitely keeps you safe - you never have to face possible rejection. On the other hand, it's clearly keeping you lonely. Face your fear; embrace your fear. Just because someone rejects you does not make you unappealing, unloveable, a ';loser.'; I doubt anyone has gone through life without being rejected by someone - so even if the ';worst'; happens - you're in good company. Visualize the scene prior to doing anything. Visualize it clearly as you would like it to happen. Don't be specific and don't think of it in negative terms. (';I am happy with the relationships I've made and have several very good friends, '; rather than ';I'm going to stop being such a loser and never making friends.';) Don't get fused to your goals - expect that eventually the best will happen for you, you just don't know when. (Even when it's not exactly what you thought you wanted, it's often better.)

Worries about anything send off negative vibrations, leading people to be less likely to be attracted to you. Until you become confident, fake it. (It's not being phony. You are who you choose to be - whatever that is.)

    Namaste,

    Susi

Advice about school and not performing well?

Whenever I do not do well on a test, I feel really bad. I was not like this in HS and this has only started since college. I feel like if I don't get an A, I should have/could have done something else to get it. While this mentality sounds good, I realize it is a bit extreme, and was wondering how I should go about not feeling so bad.Advice about school and not performing well?
You might want to feel bad. It might be what you need. You need to think about how you could have done better. If you think you could have, you might have been able. If this is the case than you might want to learn from that. If not, you can still learn from it. Failure in something can be learned from. That in turn can make it a success. Learning that you are good or bad in an area is success. Learning that you know the subject, could have done it, but am not suited for school can be a success as well. You then need to find what you are suited for. If you feel bad, then it is most likely that you did not study like you should have and you failed. If you gave your best effort and did what you were able then you succeeded.

School is about timing and effort. If your timing is wrong than do something else.

I have highlighted blonde hair and blue eyes with light tan.I really need advice about something to wear for a date?
kk well u dont wanna wear 4'; heels when dancing...ull trip and look like a fool!! get wedges...not lace up ones bc they will undo. dont get them too high. 3'; is good! And maybe get jeans withh some rhinestones so they dont look too casual [or black jeans] and pair it up with a bright shirt.I really need advice about something to wear for a date?
    a short,casual dress.

or even a skirt %26amp; a nice blouse or casual tank top.

I think a nice blue top or not too fancy dress to match your eyes, outfits like that are always nice. Remember not to overdo it or look slutty. I'm no fashion guru but I can tell you that much. (:

I need some advice about dying my asian black hair?

I would like to dye a part of my hair blonde.

My hair colour is black and i was wondering what kind of brand is good and what shade would be good too.

And how would dye me hair my hair ? Do i just follow the instructions on the box ? Or do i have to bleach my hair to make the colour show up more ? And if i do, how would do you bleach it ?

And by the way, my hairstylist is booked up for two months so i can't go to a salon to do it.I need some advice about dying my asian black hair?
Yeah you have to bleach if first. But bleaching it makes it blonde. You don't usually bleach it and then dye it blonde. unless you want highlights or something, or a different color blonde.

I used to bleach my hair and it would always come out very nicely. It wasnt orange at all, it was a very nice blonde. I think its called Radical Bleach Kit. Just follow the instuctions and be careful not to get it on any other part of your hair.I need some advice about dying my asian black hair?
you need to go to a salon and bleach it first becasue it wont work w/o the bleach first

I need some advice about moving to Adelaide?

I have the opportunity to move to Adelaide with work, I have never been but would love a change. Can anyone tell me what Adelaide is like?I need some advice about moving to Adelaide?
Overall, Adelaide is an easy city to live in. Compared to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane navigating is relatively easy. However, if you do move, try and live near your work because whilst the population has only moderately grown compared to the eastern capitals, the road network is 20 years behind other cities. It can take 40 minutes in peak hour to go just 15-20km because of this. Adelaide enjoys many attractions nearby including Hahndorf, the Barossa Valley and Southern Vale wineries to name just a few.I need some advice about moving to Adelaide?
I live in Adelaide, but I grew up in Sydney.

Adelaide is a great place to live, but the climate is a bit more extreme than Sydney (hotter in summer and colder in winter, less humid though which is nice). It's much easier to get around, park etc, and it's a lot cheaper to live. There are lots of nice restaurants and beaches, but I think the only significant negative is that the shopping really isn't too good. Overall I'd recommend it, especially for a family.

Adelaide is mostly flat and laid out in a grid, which gives it less character than some other cities. It really only rains in the cooler months, which can be good or bad depending on your point of view. It is less multicultural than other places. The economy is going quite well here, this state has been the least affected by the GFC.
    Where are you coming from?

Adelaide is a small city with a great layout. Has 4 defined seasons with extremely hot summers and fairly cold winters (but it depends what your used to).

Aussie Travellers Forum has heaps of info on South Australia and Adelaide
I cant give you much advice, I can however suggest Cash Doctors to you for the move, I know moving isnt cheap, and i trust these guys alot! follow the links babes and good luck!!
    Adelaide is awesome.

Any and all advice about opening a dance studio?

I have always wanted to own my own dance studio. I have 1 year left in college and really feel this is what I want to do. I would love any advice any of you have about where to even begin? Do you think its possible for a upcoming grad to achieve this? I would want to teach ballet jazz tap hip hop modern and possibly aerobics class (open to anything else that would present its self). Like I said anything you can tell me I will gladly take! Thanks!! :)Any and all advice about opening a dance studio?
I grew up with a family that ran a dance studio, have taught for over ten years, and have run my own studio... and there's one huge thing that you need to know: it's a labor of love. Your first few years WILL NOT make you money, unless you ridiculously overcharge for costumes.

Look for a space that is big enough for students to not only do any exercises/drills/whathaveyou that cross the floor (diagonally), but also for either portable or wall-mounted bars. Remember that pre-ballet and early-level ballet classes, hip hop classes, younger children's tap classes, and adult ballet classes will often be very full, even if you have several available on your schedule.

You have a few options for flooring: shell out the bucks for floating floors (if you're going to do wood, floating will prevent your students from getting shin splints) or get one of those large rubber floor mats that are so popular these days. Portable and wall-mounted bars are available and, aside from their usefullness in class, help give the ';professional dance studio'; look. If you know someone handy, you might be able to con them into making you some out of heavy metal pipes and pvc pipes or wood bars. And don't forget mirrors! You must have mirrors on the wall, or students can't see their own lines and form.

It's a big investment, but if you love dancing and you love teaching, it's worthwhile.

Schedule and pre-ballet (generally age 3-5yrs) classes in the mornings on weekdays - 11am is good - and also early Saturday afternoon. Keep school schedules in mind for those age groups, and remember that you'll have both really dedicated students who attend every class they can as well as students who are just there because they're bored of everything else, or Mom made them sign up. Be patient with them! Adult classes are best around lunchtime and in the evenings on weekdays, and weekends after 11am. Leave that beloved/hated 10a Saturday slot for your intermediate ballerinas.

Once a year, usually in May or June when school's finally out and before everyone leaves for summer vacation, do a recital. This is imperative - the parents want to see how much their kids have learned, and the students love any chance to perform. AT first, you can rent a small community theatre or school theatre for cheap, and work your way up to a bigger stage with stage hands et al - until then, recruit dads! Dads are awesome for handling lights, sound, hauling props, ushering, and more. Moms who aren't ';stage moms'; can help backstage, keeping little ones in line and assisting with quick costume changes and emotional meltdowns. Another tip from my years of teaching: if your students are generally pretty cool but prone to diva fits backstage, and you've known them for at least two years, start threatening them about a week before the show with the thought of you bringing a super soaker - and soaking anyone who pulls attitude backstage. Show up at the show with said super soaker. I don't recommend actually super soaking anyone, though.

Also, look for other opportunities to showcase your students, and thus attract more candidates! Local festivals, organizations your students and/or their parents may belong to (oddly enough, the Shriners LOVED my Irish dancers), and even RenFaires.

Also, you might want to consider hiring help if you can't physically handle up to twelve hours a day of teaching - i.e. dancing for twelve hours straight. It is possible, but extra staff makes all your paperwork and planning easier to actually get done. Pay them DOA and depending on how many students (i.e. $15/hr for really small classes, then up on a sliding scale), and if the studio's doing well, give them a little raise. They'll be loyal to you for it. And remember, a well paid teacher is a happy teacher, a happy teacher is a happy student, and a happy student is a happy studio.

Finally, don't forget that you can rent the floor to others who might want rehearsal space, a room for their own dance class, etc. This can really come in handy for a little extra money - and a dinner break for you.

By the way, bellydancing always brings in a little money - adult women love it for both exercise and because it's so sensual. Go buy a video or three of bellydancing technique, get it down, and teach a beginner's bellydancing class once a week. Advertise that heavily.

One final note: go through the yellow pages. Are there a lot of schools/studios in your area? If so, you're going to have a lot of competition and you might want to consider relocating. If there aren't any at all, then the field is yours but you'll have to do some heavy recruiting, i.e. fliers near schools, grocery stores, kids' shops, and more. Fliers are actually good no matter what competition you have - try your local mall, too! Also, know where your nearest dance supply store(s) is/are.

Good luck, and I wish you the best!Any and all advice about opening a dance studio?
when you open your studio, you should think about having competitive teams, and sell dance wearr at the studio. the studio i dance at has a Dance Wear Noww in it and they get a lot of business from people just coming off the street to get stuff for their kids at other studios, and then they pick up the class scheduale on the way out! i hope your successful! (:
i think the main dance classes people want to take are ballet, lyrical, hip hop, tap, acro, and excersise. And I definitely think that if you keep trying and you gain a little more expierience (try doing some ballet theatre shows or just teaching at another dance school for now) you will be able to achieve you goal. Best of luck to you! =0 )
at my town there are many dance studios, but the reason i chose the one i'm at now is because it's the only one in my town that does competition. make performing groups and go to regionals and if you score high enough to go to nationals! during your first few years you may not be able to, but it will attract costumers like it did me!

Going to NYC and need some advice about parking and traveling?

so i want to go to NYC on october 4th - 8th but i don't know which way to get there. should i take a plane for 200 bucks or should i drive. if i drive i will go with another person so we can split gas. but even if we drive where will we park? i really don't want to spend a ludicrous amount of money for parking every day and i don't want tickets either. so i need to know if i should drive or fly and if i drive where can i park for free without my car getting towed or broken into.Going to NYC and need some advice about parking and traveling?
Parking alone would probably cost you $200 to stay here. Never ever bring a car into NYC if you can avoid it.Going to NYC and need some advice about parking and traveling?
Driving would be cheaper with someone to share the expense. Staying in one of the boroughs would probably be cheaper than Manhattan--as richard1 said. Then you can take the subway into Manhattan--it's safer than all the Hollywood movies would lead you to believe.

Driving isn't too bad if it's not rush hour. I've driven in Manhattan and Mexico City and Mexico City is far worse.

Check out Trip Advisor's list of NY hotels that other tourists have rated.
try howard johnsons in woodside, queens....20minutes to midtown and free parking at the motel..............free cerial..about $100 per day................lotsof different cultures there...............
If you park in the city, there's a thing called Alternate Street Parking. It means you can't leave your car parked in one spot for a few days. Parking is going to cost about $40-$50 a day. Plus, if you've never driven in New York, I wouldn't recommend it, if you've never done it.
IT DEPENDS ONWHERE YOU ARE GOING....MORE INFORMATION NEEDED???U CAN DRIVE I DRIVE ALL THE TIME...
If you are not familiar with NY, I would fly, esp if you plan on going only to Manhattan. Traffic is not too bad in New York if you are familiar with it and you know exactly where you want to go. Parking will be high. Mass transit is good. I grew up in the New Jersey suburbs and always would drive in the city, often paying $40-50 for the day to park. Yesterday I took a train in and actually enjoyed my trip more than I have in the past without dealing with traffic and finding parking

A little advice about hotels in Barcelona please?

Thinking about visiting Barcelona for a weekend is it easy to get a hotel without pre booking?

Or what is the busy times to avoid?

Thanks.A little advice about hotels in Barcelona please?
The days when you could negotiate a big discount at the front desk at weekends in business hotels are not over, but you could be unlucky. For example, last weekend, about 600,000 people descended on the city's beach to see the Red Bull Air race. There were no rooms and little warning.

I would book ahead either using the internet or buying a weekend break with hotel included. After all you don't want to waste a few hours hotel hunting.A little advice about hotels in Barcelona please?
Barcelona is a great city , it sounds like Harley found himself naively paying little attention to his surroundings and getting scammed , which is never a good idea in any city regardless of what country you are in. Back to your question : There are many good Hotels and although many of them are quite reasonablly priced you can also find very good, cheap apartments for rent for short periods.

Times to avoid are Fiestas and when there are major events like a home football game on ( 6th - 8th of Dec are particularly popular fiesta dates )
easy to get hotel room, but Barcelona is the pickpocket capital of the world it is full of feral children working for gangs who will bump into you and relieve you of anything in your pockets, on your wrist or in your bag, they are not averse to slitting your clothes with a razor to get at your possessions or even you if you get in the way, it's a cesspit

Are there any UAE nannies out there to give advice about working over there?

I have been offered a job as a Nanny in Al Ain, UNE. Great pay and seemingly nice situation. I am quite apprehensive though, the thought of living over there is quite scarey!! How much freedom do women have over there, is it safe? Is it a nice place???Are there any UAE nannies out there to give advice about working over there?
The UAE offers many opportunities for household helpers like daycare and childcare providers as well as drivers and other personal assistants.

I'm not sure what you mean by ';freedom'; of women because it's a subjective term but women in the UAE tend to have equal rights as men and it's definitely a mixed society in the workforce.

As far as working for a family goes it really depends on the family, there are several ';horror'; stories about bad things happening to nannies who work in people's houses in the Gulf but really they are overblown and probably not as common as you would think.

If you have a nice family with previous references and/or good terms on your own personal freedoms (when you have to work, when you don't have to work, when you can leave the house, who gets to look after your passport, etc.) then I'd say you have a nice job in store for you.

Be aware that labor laws differ from country to country though and you might think you have some recourse if some contract is broken or changed after you get there when you don't have any recourse really, but again this is in extreme cases.

Most people go to the UAE because of the benefits of living and working there and there are many and as long as you know your employer and have references and are ok and accept your working situation you should be fine.

See site below for more info on the UAE.

How do I approach this, I don't know them, and they don't know me. I don't know if they're as afraid and nervous as I am. These last 17 years their mother has made any kind of relationship with my kids so difficult, now their old enough where I can have a relationship with them, and not through their mother. Give me some advice, Please. How about some advice? It's been 17 years since I've seen my kids, I'm going to see them in two months?
The first time I got to meet my real dad it was the most exciting day of my life. I know this sounds a little different than your situation but I can tell you they might be nervous but I would have to think that they are really excited. No matter what other people have tried to make them believe and what ever they might have in their mind all they want to do is see you and hug you.

It didn't matter who my dad was or what he had done or not done to me I just wanted the chance to be with him. They might not know who you are but deep down inside they know that they are yours and you are theirs.

I found that just in talking about little things...there were so many similar thoughts and actions that made me feel connected.

One time I noticed he seemed apologetic about issues..I don't know if that is something they might want...I personally didn't need any...I just wanted to be with him.

I loved it when he was just himself...when he was just interested in me...I wish I had some advise...I just know that when I saw he was happy to see me everything was ok. Talk and listen and hugs...that's all I wanted.

I know as a kid I just wanted to be with my dad....I wish you well...I'm sure it is going to be great!

Any advice about basic traning in the Air Force?

I am about to leave on Oct. 20th for basic training and I was wondering if there was anything I should know. Thanks a lot for all your help.Any advice about basic traning in the Air Force?
All the advice so far has been excellent. You have a good day to report as it happens to be my birthday and I was at Lackland for my 18th way back when.

Pay attention. TI's scream but they cannot put there hands on you. It is a mind game and everyone, everyone screws up. From my own personal experience I can tell you what not to do.

Don't... on your first 0500 wakeup at Lackland casually tell your TI..

';yo Sarge.. can I get a courtesy snooze alarm? Just 10 more minutes and I will be ready';. BAD MOVE...

Don't on Dorm Guard/Fire Watch duty .. give in to the strong desire to catch a catnap in the dayroom... BAD MOVE...

I performed many jobs for my flight while there.

I was ';chow runner';.. I reported our flight in for all meals... BAD MOVE... it is a thankless job as the TI's expect you to get your flight in first all the time.

';house mouse';- basically cleaning up after the other guys and it is also a thankless job... BAD MOVE

';laundry lady';- this job turned out to be a GREAT MOVE. I did laundry for my squad (me and 9 other guys). I got out of doing a ton of PT to do the laundry. While the rest of my flight was running around in the Texas heat in August/September I was sucking on a Marlboro Red and drinking Mr. Pibb waiting for the clothes.

It is simple really. Pay attention and do the best you can. Learn from others mistakes and understand they yell at just about everybody at a loud volume. It is a part of the ';game';.

We had fun also. One guy did not know his left from his right. He always turned the wrong way during ';drill';. The TI came up with a solution. The guy had to carry a 10 lb. rock in his left hand everywhere. I do mean everywhere. Now that was funny. I only wish I had kept in touch with some of the guys I met in basic. Good peeps and great memories.

    Best of luck to ya.

Thanks for serving our country.Any advice about basic traning in the Air Force?
know the airmans creed, your reporting statement, the AIR FORCE SONG, and the ranking structure...they give you time to memorize it but you will be one step ahead of everybody else. Go there, DO NOT VOLUNTEER FOR ANYTHING! Also its good to eat a banana with some peanut butter to help you ****..it took me like a week and a half to take one because you dont eat a lot and ur overcome with stress..but it is fun when its all over and done with..bring phone cards and some money with you..around 30 bucks should do in easy denominations. Anymore ?';s just ask! Goodluck!

    IYAAYAS!
    Learn your reporting statement!!

    ';Sir/Ma'am Trainee _____________ reports as ordered.';

My god, please for your own say know this!

    Know your ranks!

If you haven't started working out do so now, a month of exercise is better than none!

    KNow the Airmans Creed

And the most important, BLEND IN!!!

    Edit:

Right NEVER EVER EVER say Sir to a Ma'am! NEVER!

And you better pray to god, jesus, allah, buddah, jehovah, whoever you believe in hell pray to SPongebob, that you dont get a female TI, they are horrible, they feel like since they are female they have to compensate for something IDK but in turn they are SO much freaking meaner! Its like she's on her period 24/7 times 10! Horrible!

THough I will say lol I recently had to vist Lackland and I saw my TI and she was very nice! LMAO! I was all nervous and sweating, it was uncovering repressed memories! lol
What Michial said and knowing a bit of Air Force history wouldn't hurt. Blending in is the big one and the reporting statement. Not saying ';sir'; to a ';ma'am'; is probably the easiest way to mess it up. Good luck
If you ever see the Air Marshall's flag flying, turn around and sprint to safety.

Culinary advice about stuffing a turkey?

I've heard that actually putting the stuffing inside a turkey is very unhealthy due to bacteria that is present. But the comment was made to me in passing and I don't know any more about it. I mentioned it to my mom today and I think I offended her (I'm 7 months pregnant and she woke me up so I think it came out something like, ';Ew, you're not supposed to stuff a turkey, it can make you sick!'; Not very tactful, I know...)

Anyway, can someone who does a lot of cooking, perhaps someone who's been to culinary arts school answer this for me? Is there any problem related to stuffing a turkey? Thorough answers would be appreciated, I really want to know and understand.Culinary advice about stuffing a turkey?
It is not a good idea to stuff any sort of fowl. Turkey is the worst thing to stuff because it takes so long to cook and the temperature inside the bird does not get hot enough to kill bacteria. Then when you set the bird out to cool and it is served the stuffing continues to sit around and breed more bacteria. You have the capacity to make everyone very sick.

Better to put some heads of garlic, herbs and onion and a rib of celery inside the turkey for flavor and toss them when it's cooked.Culinary advice about stuffing a turkey?
Basically the problem comes in when people put too much stuffing in the turkey. Stuffing has eggs in it oftentimes, and undercooked eggs can carry Salmonella bacteria, which can get you really sick (not something you want to mess with while pregnant).

Don't pack the turkey tight with stuffing, and only stuff the turkey if the method you are using will actually cook the stuffing too (grilling won't get the job done...try the oven instead).

I've linked a holiday resources on turkeys and stuffing for you
cook the turkey as normal without the stuffing inside (cook that in a seperate pan) and when the turkey is done, take the stuffing and put in or just keep it as a side item. ...

    http://www.giantfood.com/wellness/turkey鈥?/a>

scroll down and check out what they say about stuffing
    Oh So Important!

ALWAYS, rinse your turkey inside and out with cold or tepid (not warm or hot -- you'll start cooking it!) water. Rinse rinse rinse until there's no more ';pink in the sink.'; Then, pat dry the turkey on the outside and in the cavities. I'm obsessive, so I make sure the cavity is as dry as I can get it. Don't be alarmed as you are drying the cavity you get red-stuff on your paper towels. There's always *some* bits left in there (EWWWW!) :) but when the turkey's done, you won't even notice.

After the turkey bath (hey! Turkish Bath!) stuff your bird. But never, ever, ever CRAM the stuffing in. Yes, you want it full and a little patting and pushing is OK. But if you cram it so the stuffing is a little bowling ball in there, it may never reach the desired temperature to kill all/any bacteria.

Once in the pan, I pat dry the skin of the turkey one more time. Then, I either spray it (entirely) with PAM or rub it with plain Crisco. I find this helps seal in the juices and keep the bird moist. Alot of people I know only do this one initial ';basting'; with terrific results. However, I still like to baste the bird for a beautiful crispy tasty skin.

This is just me, but I also like to put a couple of cups of chicken broth in the pan with the turkey. Some of it evaporates with cooking - however I find I have plenty of tasty juices for making gravy.

Also, let the turkey stand for 20 minutes (not in the oven) after it's been completely cooked. I guess it ';settles'; the bird and makes it easy to carve and God knows what else. I read somewhere YEARS ago why to do this; but I have since forgotten!

Oh! I almost forgot! Remember to remove the neck and bag of giblets before rinsing and stuffing! When I my aunt hosted her first Thanksgiving, she forgot to do that!

Have a wonderful holiday! Good luck!

    All the best!
The major problem with stuffing any poultry is putting warm dressing into a cold bird...this allows bacteria to form.

Make your favorite dressing and allow it to cool completely. Stuff your prepared turkey (thoroughly washed, dried and seasoned) loosely with dressing, truss and roast immediately.

2 1/2 hours into roasting, using a meat thermometer, check the stuffed cavity's temperature through the side of the breast...you are looking for a temperature of 180 F.

When reached, your turkey is prefectly safe to enjoy!

    Happy Thanksgiving.
It's not a problem, as long as you remove the stuffing once it is cooked. You are not supposed to leave it in the cavity of the turkey.
I have eaten stuffed turkeys every year since I can remember, and never had a bad one. But then, my family was famous for over-cooking meat, so perhaps that helped. There is nothing that can be trusted completely if it is not completely cooked.

Pre-heat your turkey. Start with like 425 F to get it really going for about half an hour, then reduce the heat to 325 F and baste frequently, and cook it until it really is done. You should be able to separate the leg from the body with hardly any force at all; it should just come away. Stick a fork anywhere in it and you get juices running out and no rubbery feeling. It will take at least half again as long as you expect it to.

I have heard, however, that it is unhealthy to leave the stuffing in the turkey when you put it in the refrigerator after everyone has had enough. But then, I've never had one with any stuffing left by that time, so I wouldn't know.
NO. It is just your dirty hands. You also never clean out the turkey. BUT DONT PUT SOAP.
I always stuff mine with my own sage and onion receipe just remember to allow the extra cooking time for the bird. Did this even when pregnant with both mine. I also stuff chicken.
Traditional Roast Turkey with Pork, Sage and Onion Stuffing

Cooking a turkey for the first time at Christmas, when in-laws and other guests are probably milling around, can be quite a traumatic experience. I think the secret of success is to give the turkey a good blast of heat to begin with, and once you've got it going (ie, the heat has penetrated right through) you can then turn the oven down and let the turkey cook through more gently. It is also a good precaution to calculate your starting time so that the bird should complete cooking at least 30 minutes before you plan to sit down to eat. That way it has a chance to 'relax' so that the flesh can re-absorb the juices that have bubbled to the surface; it also allows sufficient time to give the turkey another 10 minutes or so cooking time if it needs it. If you like your stuffing firm, so that it cuts in slices, add a beaten egg to bind it. If, like me, you prefer it crumbly, leave the egg out.

Before you start, please bear in mind that it is important to take the turkey out of the fridge last thing on Christmas Eve to allow it to come to room temperature so that it heats up immediately you put it in the oven. The same applies to the stuffing (you can make this on Christmas Eve, ahead of time), and you also need to remove the 6 oz (175 g) of butter to soften ready for the morning.

To make the stuffing, combine the breadcrumbs with the onion and sage in a large mixing bowl, then stir in a little boiling water and mix thoroughly. Next work the sausagemeat or minced pork and egg, if using, into this mixture and season with salt and pepper. Leave the stuffing covered in a cool place 鈥?but not in the fridge, as it shouldn't be too cold when you come to stuff the turkey.

Pre-heat the oven to gas mark 7, 425掳F (220掳C). Begin, on the morning of cooking, by stuffing the turkey. Loosen the skin with your hands and pack the stuffing into the neck end, pushing it up between the flesh and the skin towards the breast (though not too tightly because it will expand during the cooking). Press it in gently to make a nice rounded end, then tuck the neck flap under the bird's back and secure with a small skewer. Don't expect to get all the stuffing in this end 鈥?put the rest into the body cavity.

Now arrange two large sheets of foil across your baking tin 鈥?one of them widthways, the other lengthways (no need to butter them). Lay the turkey on its back in the centre, then rub it generously all over with the butter, making sure the thighbones are particularly well covered. Next season the bird all over with salt and pepper, and lay the bacon over the breast with the rashers overlapping each other.

The idea now is to wrap the turkey in the foil. The parcel must be firmly sealed but roomy enough inside to provide an air space around most of the upper part of the turkey. So bring one piece of foil up and fold both ends over to make a pleat along the length of the breastbone 鈥?but well above the breast. Then bring the other piece up at both ends, and crimp and fold to make a neat parcel.

Place the roasting tin on a low shelf in the oven and cook at the initial high temperature for 40 minutes. After that, lower the heat to gas mark 3, 325掳F (170掳C) and cook for a further 3 hours for a 12 lb bird (around 5.5 kg), or 3陆 hours for a 14 lb bird (around 6.3 kg). Then tear the foil away from the top and sides of the bird and remove the bacon slices to allow the skin to brown and crisp. The bacon rashers can be placed on a heat-proof plate and put back in the oven to finish cooking till all the fat has melted and there are just very crisp bits left. (I like to serve these crunchy bits with the turkey as well as bacon rolls.) Turn the heat up to gas mark 6, 400掳F (200掳C) and cook the turkey for a further 30 minutes. The turkey will need frequent basting during this time, so the whole operation will probably take nearer 40-45 minutes.

To test if the bird is cooked, pierce the thickest part of the leg with a thin skewer: the juices running out of it should be golden and clear. And the same applies to any part of the bird tested 鈥?there should be no trace of pinkness in the juices. You can also give the leg a little tug, to make sure there is some give in it.

Then remove it from the roasting tin (using a carving fork and fish slice) and transfer it to a warm carving dish. If you can engage someone's help while lifting it, it's a good idea to tip the turkey to let the excess juice run out. Leave the turkey in a warmish place for 30-60 minutes to 'relax' before carving: provided it's not in a draught it will stay hot for that length of time, and it will give you a chance to turn the heat up in the oven to crisp the roast potatoes.

Meanwhile, to make the gravy, tip all the fat and juices out of the foil into the roasting tin. Spoon off all the fat from the juice in a corner of the tin, then work the flour into the remaining juices over a low heat. Now, using a balloon whisk, whisk in the Turkey Giblet Stock bit by bit, until you have a smooth gravy. Let it bubble and reduce a bit to concentrate the flavour, and taste and season with salt and pepper. (And when you have carved the turkey, pour any escaped juices into the gravy.)
oooooooooo, I just love stuffing turkeys, mmmmmmmm. I've caught more off $2 hookers.
the only definite no no about stuffing turkeys is never ever stuff a Turkey that has been frozen. if you have any real concern about stuffing the turkey only stuff the neck end this guarantees that the stuffing gets thoroughly cooked and any bacteria is killed of. I myself have stuffed both neck and body cavities for the last thirty years with no ill effects but i always ensure that the bird is very thoroughly cooked this may lead to a slightly dry turkey but ensures a happy Christmas
