Im an 19 yr old american citizen with a two year old son. We're more Likely moving to mexico because of the illegal worker crackdown and my husband is here illegally. What do i need to do to move down to guanajuato??Can someone give me advice about moving to Guanajuato?
If your husband is Mexican, it will help you to get a residents visa FM, check the information here, but you can contact the Mexican Embassy, so you won麓t forget important documents. I think you have to be at least 5 years married to get the mexican nationality, it is better to have it too):

Guanajuato is a state with beautiful cities, the main city ist called too Guanajuato. I recommend you to stay in big cities, if you don麓t speak Spanish (there are cheaper Spanisch schools and better job opportunities for foreigners).

You have to pay yourself, if you don麓t have a job the ';Seguro social'; , the area of medicine general/familiar is terrible (no appointments an eternal waiting time), but the specialities are the best. They offer you and your family medical services (include dentist, pediatric, gynecologist, psichologist), medicines, the vaccine notebook for your baby (there is the list of the necessary vaccines and the appointments), free time activities and courses, labor inability pension and retairement pension included. It is not very expensive about 2000.- pesos a year (to consult a privat doctor could cost you 300.- pesos each time plus medicines). About to consult doctors, ask first for recommendations, not all the medicine schools are good (the best are the doctors from the UNAM).

*Sure you will live first with your mother in law? The mexican people are extreme good hosts, they pamper you and insist very kindly everytime, you don麓t need to do anything, but do it any way, in a kind way help, if they don麓t let you, surprise them helping, otherwise your husband will have to hear many complains about you.

*Each city has high level neighbourhoods, middle level , low level and slams. Check with your husban the kind of area, because exactly like this, will be the security in the area. I love Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende (soooo beautiful), Le贸n is an industrial city)

* Try to learn very quick Spanisch, otherwise you will get everything more expensive.

First of all, do you plan on moving there permanently? Do you have a U.S. passport? Sounds like you'll want to apply for an immigrant visa:

I think this website will help you a lot.

Good luck and good trip.
Apply for your immigration documents. Learn some Spanish.
pack up and move san miguel allende is very nice ive been here for two years and have no plans to go back to tx and theres lots of tourist here and even the mexicans speek english you will have no trouble i live here
Hey there welcome to Gto =)
From the information in your question I am assuming you are a Mexican Passport holder. If so I think that will make the move easier already. I knew two ladies near by (San Miguel De Allende) who said they had trouble trying to get utilities turned on and workmen over to the house since there was not a man/ husband to sign for things.

Not many people speak english there and it is pretty hot and dry so moving this time of year might be hard. But if you are going up into the mountains you might get some relief.

good luck!
