Ive a temporary 20 a day habit I want to smoke HALF that amount, like before.. It somehow just got out of hand and I crave it more, due to stress and 100 things but still no excuse!Does anyone have any advice about how to cut down smoking?
find a reason to quit smoking and start making excuses why you shouldn't have a cigarette.
a customer at the store told me she quit smoking after her husband complained that her $150 a month habit was preventing them from going on a romantic cruise or getting the big screen TV they wanted. She told me that she placed a picture of the cruise and the big screen TV next to her cigarettes. if she was stressed out she punched a bag or chewed gum. When she finally quit, a year later they went on the cruise. Another year later they bought the big screen TV.Does anyone have any advice about how to cut down smoking?
have a friend help you.
like for me, my friend would hold mine for me and only give me a certain amount, and she wouldnt let me go buy more and such. just have a friend stay with you for a few days and do that.

smoke less - thats the only way.
Of course nothing's better than quitting, but here's a couple of cut-down tricks. Put a bottle of water with your cigarettes and make it a rule that you have to drink that bottle of water before you can have a cigarette. But here's a sure-fire way for most people to cut down smoking. Just one simple rule: when you're smoking a cigarette that's all you can do. You must smoke it alone, no talking or visiting. No reading, watching tv. You can smoke whenever you want, but you must only smoke, nothing else. If you do nothing but concentrate on smoking that cigarette you'll find yourself not smoking a lot of the cigarettes you just smoke out of habit. But I'm thinking if you've got that much will power, you might as well get a prescription for Chantix and just quit!
Cutting down smoking doesn't work. You can get back to 10 a day and then overnight be right back up to the 20 a day habit.
The only answer is to quit completely.
What i do:
If I want to cut down because I feel I'm smoking too much I just think ';I Don't need to smoke, If i NEEDED to smoke i would have done since i was born';. Then Remind my self i am stronger than the cravings. makes me think about lighting up and i can reduce my 20 a day right down to around 3!!!
Stop buying them. It SOMEHOW got out of hand? It's called nicotine!
