Advice about my way of writing?

I just started writing a novel based on my own lonely life story and my perception of the world, but I am planning on not mentioning names of places and faces in order to leave the reader to imagine whatever he or she likes according to their own personality and being.

Do you believe this will make the story monotonous or eccentric in any way?

(ps=i am writing this in my own language, in case you saw any mistakes here, english is not my mother language, because i know there is always the kind of people to judge that too)Advice about my way of writing?
Wow, you have great English skills for somebody who doesn't speak it as her first language! I didn't notice any major problems at all.

Whether you don't mention the name of your setting depends on your story, I think. Sometimes it works to not give a name to wherever the events take place, and sometimes it doesn't. On the other hand, giving your setting a fictional setting that has a different name from where you live, but is still similar to it, might be a good option for you. Many writers have done this with great success.

Personally, I like it when writers don't describe their characters' appearances in every detail, unless it's very important to the story to know that a character has red hair or blue eyes or dark skin or whatever physical attributes they have. I like to invent appearances for characters myself as I read. (I think that's what you meant by ';mentioning names of places or faces.';)

If you meant that you don't plan to give names to characters based on real people, I think that is not such a good idea. Just change their names. It's too hard for a reader to connect with a character who has no name, especially in a long format like a novel. It's easier to get away with not naming characters in a short story - the shorter, the better!

Good luck with your novel!Advice about my way of writing?
No...

Charles Dickens wrote ';David Copperfield'; in that manner...

...which seems to have been pretty well received.

I know I enjoyed it...though, I admit I'm more easily enthralled on car trips, which is how I spent the most time with it.
It seems very intersting to note how will you be able to write a novel without mentioning any name...Hmmmmmmm

Go ahead..... Seems intrigueing
