I am a single parent of two children and need to save as much as possible. I would love to hear any advice from people that have been.Does anybody have advice about planning a cheep Disney trip.?
Cheep and Disney can not be used in the same sentence. You can get an all inclusive trip that is expensive or you can get a no frills trips that nickles and dimes you to death and ends up costing the same amount. Sorry that is not what you want to hear, but its what I have found out in three trips there.Does anybody have advice about planning a cheep Disney trip.?
Disneyland or Disneyworld?
The best time to go to Orlando and Disney World is the first week in December. It's cool, the crowds are minimal, and hotels will practically pay you to stay.
My husband and I went for a week at that time and it was lovely. We went to priceline.com and got a really nice hotel for next to nothing. You offer your own price and they will accept or deny. Trust me, start out low. We paid about $30 per night. It wasn't a junky place either, very nice.
Most hotels offer buses into the park, you save money on parking fees. The only downside is that you are on their schedule.
It was cool, the lines weren't long, and we saved a lot of money.
I don't know how long you want to stay, but find a hotel with a small fridge and bring along your own food. Most rooms have microwaves and with the endless amount of microwave foods you can do fairly nice dinners right in your hotel room. Take snacks, bottled water, juice boxes into the park to save on their outrageous prices.
If you have any questions feel free to email me.
Avoid staying at the resorts where costs are higher.
You're going to pay alot to get in so save where you can.
We went to the one in Fla. We drove there and camped on the property at the Disney campground which was reasonable and super nice. Got multi-day tickets which were cheaper. Took snacks and water/juice in back packs. Ate breakfast and dinner at campgrounds and took advantage of all the free entertainment. Planned to only eat lunch in the parks and checked ahead of time for the most reasonable place. Gave the kids a set amount of money to buy souvenirs and refused to buy any extra.
