My friend needs your advice about the following?

Right now my friend is 31 years old. When he finished high school he attended a community college. He had to leave college to get a full time job due to financial reasons. He has been thinking about going back to college to get his degree. Here is what he need advice about the following.

1. Since it has been awhile since he has attended college he is thinking about attending a four year college. Will some of his credits transfer since his credits hasn't been current?

2. Since he is 31 years old will the college let him live on campus?

3. Will he have to take the sat's since he didn't take them in high school?

4. If he only attends a college part time can he still get a student loan?My friend needs your advice about the following?
1. He should be able to transfer some classes. He can check with the admissions office to make sure. They will regardless require his transcript when he applies.

2. The college can't discriminate based on age. However, most colleges require students to be attending college full-time in order to qualify to live on campus. He might also consider options that would have him living with other older students (sometimes they can make exceptions for older undergraduates to live in graduate housing, etc.). I had a friend who was 40 and a transfer student who lived a few apartments down from me on campus.

3. If he is applying as a transfer student (which I would imagine that he is if he is if he is looking to have credits transger) he wouldn't necessarily need to take the SAT. If he isn't applying as a transfer student then he would. Again, that would be a check with the admissions offices for qualifications for transfer students.

4. There is some financial aid available for part time students. He can also write off paying tuition on his taxes, which is a nice tax break.

I hope that helps some.
